1. Brief introduction

As social economy and science technology develop fast, especially the development of computer network, people demand for security higher and higher accordingly. To fight various economic crimes and protect national & people security, adopting high tech measure to prevent crime has become the development trend of security filed.
From 1980s to middle1990s, with the appearance of new security concept, various security departments and various industries set up their respective CCTV monitoring systems or networking alarm system. The computer system application & popularization development and network communication skill & image compression skill & transmission skill development enable security industry to adopt newest skills, thus remote monitoring & alarm system can adopt effective and economical solution, playing an important role in crime prevention & economy maintenance.

2. Design consideration

Full function: system integrates with video monitoring, burglar alarm, linkage control and network transmission, realizing complete protection.
Advanced skill: all selected products are notable brands which have been applying for wide security fields. After market testing, its skill is beyond rival products.
Reliable practicability: whole system can work for 24-hour. All performance & specifications meet national demand and pass the test from Ministry of Public Security, safe running not less than 20000 hours; interface designed simply, Chinese localized, operation easy, convenient for user management; at daytime, system monitors human or event, and at nighttime, system still monitors human or event with super low illumination camera; supporting normal continuous recording, motion detection recording, alarm linkage recording, etc, all models being able to alternate setting, realizing monitoring & storage intelligence and saving HDD space.
Good expandability: system design should be reserved spare space for expansion later on. So system server selection should consider the standard structure. Due to involving 85 points & 28ch * 4 servers, but input max 96 channels, thus we just need reserving 11 channels for expansion; if need further more points, we just add more front-end cameras rather than add more servers, by this way greatly saving system cost.

3. System composition and function

3.1. System composition
This monitoring system is only composed by video section, but alarm section has not been designed yet.
CCTV monitoring system is composed by front-end equipment, transmission device, main control device and displaying equipment. Front-end equipment includes camera, lens, housing, bracket and pan/tilt, in charge of picture & data recording and processing; transmission device includes coaxial cable and signal conductor, in charge of transmitting audio & video signal to main control equipments in control room; main control equipment is in charge of compressing signal, switching picture, controlling PTZ, etc; displaying equipment mainly refers to monitor which real time displays system interface, onsite picture and stored files.
Traditional control method (analog mode) adopts distributive control, i.e. surveillance and storage work standalone each other, such as recording signal by analog camera & video tape; controlling PTZ by PTZ controller; dividing picture by video quads, and so on, above which managers are tiring of operating whole system. Nowadays, we use advanced PC based monitoring mode, i.e. use monitoring sever to set up a new control platform (DVR server) at which all functions realize, easily managing system via mouse clicking. Thus the control work not only makes management more simple, visible and convenient, but also saves cost; meantime multimedia digital monitoring system offers broad network platform, at any time transmitting control signal to each sub-controller on PC, by this way greatly enhancing management intensity & efficiency.
3.2. System function
Watchman can use front-end devices like camera or pan/tilt or intrusion detector to view and monitor important passages & entrances & exits, furthermore using linkage devices to realize night intrusion alarm, linkage lighting and auto recording.
At each monitoring point, cameras can thoroughly view activities in these areas, also record all details, in order to be checked by manager when problem appearing. Watchman can view any camera picture with PTZ control to get optimal effect on vision.
Main control system supports grading management. Via in-building LAN, department leaders can manage onsite events through sub-control in own office room.

5. Control room arrangement and line installation

5.1. System control center design
Security system control center should be in a lonely room which prevents illegal people entering.
Guard department should be assigned specific watchmen for keeping protecting
Monitor and record video signal.
Centrally supply power to control equipments and periphery devices.
Receive various alarm signals and their acousto-optic displaying, meanwhile activate recording.
5.2. System control center technical requirement
Set up anti-intrusion facility, self-defense device and intercommunication device, as well as link with local police department
Brightening power supply should be isolated with equipment power supply, providing standalone AC power supply for system.
Control room should set up anti-static floor, lay specified grounding line (copper-conductor isolated cable), not less than 5 meters to lightning GND line, GND resistance not larger than 4Ω

5.3 Pipeline installation In order to ensure the overall aesthetics of all operating agencies, the apparatuses like conductor line, coaxial line and control line are installed with groove or PVC pipe. Thus it ensures flameproof and interference blocking. Pipeline and groove installation try to be concealed. Technical defense in project should be carried out according to relevant rules.

6. Other skill measures

Based on whole system project power consumption, it is best to install a stabilized power supply, ensuring all equipments normal working.
Totally adopt concealed installation, but the unconcealed devices like router pipe should be protected.
In installation and debug process, it is required to adjust sensitivity of alarm detector, in order to avoid both underreporting and misreporting.

7. Surveillance point design

Hotel monitoring system aims to maintain property security and human safety. Concerning on the criminal trickiness, system should be integrated with other various high skills like electronic skill, sensor skill and computer skill. Thus it greatly prevents various crimes.
In light of hotel features, install cameras at entrances & exits, passage, elevator cage and hall, where there are crowded people. Details as below:
Install cameras at top part of east hall of second floor, east & west Vehicle Park and east |& west gate, main dinning room, engineering department, boiler hose as well as report hall;
  • Install fixed cameras at hotel gate, cashier table of first floor, entrance, front hall, foreside room of elevator of 1st-13th floor and east & west passage;
  • Install a fixed camera separately at 3 elevators;
  • Install 2 fixed cameras at new building, 5 fixed cameras at old building and 2 fixed cameras at entertainment center, total 42 channels fixed indoor points.

Whole hotel totally installs 65 channels monitoring points, of which there are 56 channels fixed installation, 9 channels for pan/tilt.

Camera is a product installed on site, including CCD camera, lens, housing, bracket, etc. As the eye of system, camera reflects object into optical signal, and then transmits to monitor of control center. Select suitable camera, pan/tilt and housing.

For fixing installed camera, we adopt BN-030H high definition dome camera. It integrates with camera, fixed lens and dome housing; easier installed, more beautiful, more hide capability. Meanwhile, this model captures clearly with low illumination, backlight compensation and gain control function.

  • Dedicated camera for elevator

Adopt camera BN-030HUFO/SN which has vandal-proof function, smart shape; superb quality, suitable for various elevator cages.
8.3. Transmission devices selection
Transmission system affords for video signal, alarm signal and control signal transmission. According to design requirement, video signal is almost transmitted by anti-interference coaxial cable (if distance between camera and control center is overlong, please add video cable diameter) SYV75-5-2 with 96% blocking density.
Both video input resistance and video output resistance are 75Ω.
Transmit control signal and alarm signal by multi-conductor twisted pair.
Transmit power for equipment by multi-conductor sheathed pair.
8.4. Main control equipments
Main control part is the “heart” and “brain” of whole system, also the command center. Its functions mainly include video signal display, switch and record; record and accessories (lens, pan/tilt) control; alarm signal input & output; alarm linkage record; network transmission, etc. therefore, the selected devices should be high performance, systematic, multi-functional and easily expanded. Networking sub-control computer (can use existed computer)
Networking sub-control computer can use wide-band and IDRS-6024S DVR to connect with network. Through the execution of IDRS-6024S client, system can real time view the objective area, controlling pan/tilt and lens, researching host HDD video files.
