1. User demand
1.1 Remote network monitoring system. An enterprise center wants to monitor its 100 branches, daily management and safety protection.
1.2 Each branch installs 2 channels indoor camera, one fixed and the other PTZ controlled; install sound pickup to monitor on-site situations, meantime install emergency button for alarming in unexpected happenings.
1.3 All branches monitoring signals (video/audio/alarm signal) requires to be transmitted to control center for centrally monitoring & managing.

2. Solution designment key-points
2.1 First, according to site situation, select proper camera and main control device to ensure monitoring effect
2.2 Second, management platform construction of "control center" . For control center takes in charge of camera & alarm monitoring of 100 braches or 200 channels camera, so "control center" management platform should ensure system' s stability, management flexibility and functional perfection. Here we recommend "IDRS NVMS (IDRS network distribution management system)" , so as to achieve the above demands. This platform includes below parts:
- Central server: mainly take charge device management, information authentication, so as to optimize network resource and enhance stability.
- Video site: mainly take charge all video networking save & monitoring operations
- Electronic map / alarm management / digital matrix: used to locate object on map, receive alarm information, extract picture, restore to analog picture, control digital matrix (TV wall), etc.
- Network client: mainly used for sub-controllers which demand temporary monitoring (e.g. leaders, management departments), excluding control center,
3. System composition & introduction
3.1 Each branch:
- Front-end part: include camera, lens, housing, bracket, pan/tilt and decoder, as well as emergency button. This part usually captures signal
- Transmission part: mainly includes video line, power line, control line and alarm line, transmitting various signals.
- Main control part: mainly refer to DVS, compressing and converting signal to digital signal and upload it onto network.
- Top control center: via network, centrally monitor and manage all video signals and alarm signals. Derails as:
3.2 Central server:
- Central server:
Central server is the core in whole system, composed by computer and central server software. It centrally manages front-end digital devices (DVS), video site and network client, details including device authentication, user authentication, intra-system configuration, user authorization, remote central control & modification of specifications or settings, and resource sharing or objective service.
- Video site:
It is composed by computer and video site software, responsible for connecting digital front-end equipments, providing user all remote video displaying, recording and PTZ control, functioning as a networking DVR; meanwhile it can also function as video source of network client, taking charge audio & video transiting, avoiding client directly calling digital front-end equipments so as to cause repetition of networking resource use and affecting transmission efficiency.
- Electronic map/alarm management/digital matrix
It is composed by "electronic map/alarm management server/digital matrix" . It mainly uses the strong map function locating all monitoring points, so as to realize alarm linkage function based on electronic map. At present, the map is two levels, first is "point distribution map" and second is "intra-point map" . As some point (base station) appears alarm, besides alarming in local, alarm signal also auto uploads to network and activates top control center alarm kit, flash light and suchlike alarming devices; first level map auto displays alarmed location, then press the point and enter this point second level map which displays inter-point detailed situation; meanwhile alarm picture auto uploads and displays; signal frame displays alarm log; if setting alarm function, the alarm signal auto uploaded can be saved for check in later.
Moreover, because electronic map makes monitoring point more simply and convenient to look for, so, in multi-point system, even if there is no alarm linkage requirement, it is also useful to install this software, so as to quickly look for and call point picture, enhancing monitoring efficiency.
This server can be added hardware decoder to restore monitoring signal to analog signal output, besides, it is available to connect analog TV wall, using digital matrix switching pictures.
3.3 Network client
It is composed by computer and network client. The most clients are non-saved users, involving leader or other management departments. Network client can be installed in common office computer or laptop, mainly responsible for picture displaying, PTZ control and remote searching. Network client picture derives from video site, mainly responsible for preventing directly calling front-end equipments and causing repetition of network resource affecting transmission efficiency. If video site is closed, user can with IE directly connect front-end equipments to remotely monitor.

5. System operation principle
5.1 Branch audio, video and alarm signals are transmitted to DVS by cable, converting, compressing and uploading it to network.
Use top control sever centrally managing all devices and users, including device registration & authentication, user registration & authentication, intra-system devices relations configuration, user authority setting, remote centralized specification & setting control and modification, as well as resource sharing and objective serving.
Each video site on top control center, according to central server' s task assignment, auto manages in group (present video site monitors max 24 channels picture), carrying out various network monitoring functions.
The "electronic map/alarm management/digital matrix" can display all branches locations and branches list, available to monitor all points at anytime. The inbuilt hardware decoder and digital matrix functions can switch pictures of analog TV wall; meantime, it is available to quickly search or call pictures on the map according to demands.
5.5 Other clients wanting to remotely view pictures must at first logon "Central Server" with "User name & Passwords" , then central server will check the visitor' s identification with the predefined settings.
5.6 User passes check, enters monitoring system, the screen will display a list of all available resources to current visitor (i.e. all devices which can be visited or controlled), using this list to operate demands.

8. Equipment selection
As for fixed indoor cameras, in order to make camera more concealed and reduce discomfort of people, we recommend using dome camera BN-030H, featuring integration of camera & lend & housing, ceiling mount, cute shape, simple installation, with certain concealing ability and high cost performance.
As for movable indoor camera, it is a good choice to choose integrated color camera (built-in motorized zoom lens), installing with "indoor housing, common pan/tilt and decoder" (or choose indoor ceiling pan/tilt for concealing). What to notice is that network transmission is different with that by common coaxial cable, the transmission efficiency usually affected by network stability and bandwidth, so in order to reach ideal transmission, besides adopting high quality cable; it must be created a better network environment, so as to ensure transmission stability and speed.
