The Classification of CCD Cameras and Surveillance Cameras

In the security surveillance system, the image is made by mainly CCD cameras. CCD can convert the light into electrons and storage or transfer them, the electrons also can be taken out to make the change of the voltage, therefore, it is the better element. It is widely used because of its small cubage, light weight and no being influenced by magnet and against shock.

CCD camera can be divided into the following big categories.

According to image color

• (1) color cameras: suit to tell the details of objects, such as the color of clothes or objects., the information is increased because of color, and the information content usually is regarded bigger as ten times as black and white cameras
• (2) Black and white cameras: used to be installed in the areas where cameras can not get the enough light and fix the lighting equipments. You can choose this kind of cameras if only watch the position and motion of the objects.

According to camera resolution

• (1) The low-level cameras include the camera’s pixel is about 250 thousands, color resolution is 330 TVL, and white and black is about 420 resolutions
• (2)Middle-level cameras include the camera’s pixel is about 250 thousands between 420 thousands, the color resolution is 420 TVL and white and black is about 500 TVL.
• (3) High-level cameras include the camera’s pixel is above 38 thousands, the color resolution is 480 TVL or above it, and the black and white is above 570 lines.

According to the sensitivity of cameras

• (1) 1~3Lux ordinary: working illumination is 1~3Lux
• (2) Moon: working illumination is 0.1 Lux
• (3) Star: working illumination is 0.01 Lux
• (4) IR: working illumination can be 0 Lux and make the image by IR lights

According to the size of CCD

• (1)l inch the size is broad: 12.7mmX height:9.6mm,diagonal: 16mm
• (2)2/3inch the size are broad:8.8mmX height:6.6mm, diagonal:11mm
• (3)1/2inch the size are broad:6.4mmX height:4.8mm, diagonal:8mm
• (4)1/3inch the size are broad:4.8mmX height:3.6mm, diagonal:6mm
• (5)1/4inch the size are broad:3.2mmX height:2.4mm, diagonal:4mm
• (6)1/5inch is under the research，no product available
