What is Illumination?
As a unit of brightness, illumination means camera’s requirement for brightness of surrounding area. The unit of illumination is Lux. 1Lux nearly equals to illumination of 1m distance of 1 candle. The “MINIMUM.ILLUMINATION” which is often found in the specifications of camera means this camera can get clear image under the LUX index marked. The lower the LUX index is, the higher the sensitivity of CCD is. Under same bright condition, the illumination of B/W (black/white) camera is much lower than color camera.
