What is a Video Server?
Video server is a dedicated PC device which serves AV (audio& video) of compressing, storing and processing. Video server is widely applied for video surveillance, network education, video conference, spot announcement and VOD (video on demand). Video server adopts M—JPEG, H.261, H.263, MPEG—2, MPEG—4 and other formats in order to compress and decode video signal, and then meets storage and transmission demand. Video server has multi input-output interfaces and multi AV (audio& video) interfaces. Video server can configurate SCSI and FC interface to transmitting or share signal. Video server is composed by AV (audio& video) compression encoder, high-capacity memory, input-output channel, network interface, AV (audio& video) interface, RS422 serial interface, protocol interface, software interface, AV (audio& video) junction matrix etc. in additional, video server offers external phase-locking service and video processing service.
